About Pet Quietus and Dr. Karin Christopher

Dr. Karin Christopher has been a small animal veterinarian for over 25 years. Her work in emergency medicine, small animal private practice and as a professor at the University of Minnesota, strengthened her desire to be a catalyst to the human-animal-bond, and in making pets comfortable. This led to the founding of Pet Quietus.

She believes that the final stages of a pet's life should be afforded the peace and dignity that we, as humans, desire. Being in the home is the best place to achieve that "quiet." She finds great satisfaction in helping families through this difficult time and in supporting people through the challenges of improving quality-of-life for aged and terminally-ill pets.

Dr. Karin is the only veterinarian in the Corpus Christi area that is certified in hospice and palliative care. She is a also a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, our local Coastal Bend Veterinary Medical Association and is a member and 2025 Past-President of the International Association of Animal Hospice and Palliative Care. She lives in Corpus Christi with her husband and three children and they share their home and hearts with their dogs, Chase and Checkers. Jasmine, Boomer, Dodger, Oliver and many other sweet souls are gone but never forgotten.
